ATC & PacSet Tours: Anime De-Tour!

February 22nd 2012, 15:54 CST

Anime Twin Cities has exciting news! We've partnered with PacSet Tours to offer Anime De-Tour: A guided trip to Japan, originating from Minneapolis/St. Paul and created with Anime Detour congoers in mind.

This opportunity is open to everyone! You do not need to be registered for Anime Detour or be a member of ATC to attend. And, if you sign up before this year's convention, you'll receive a $100 discount.

Keep an eye out for the official Anime De-Tour panel at the convention and check out PacSet's official tour page for more details:

Bring your DS for Pokemon events all weekend.

February 16th 2012, 11:38 CST

We have two Pokemon events for Anime Detour 2012:

First is the Pokemon DS League Challenge

The Pokemon DS League Challenge is a weekend long event. Please try to attend the panel on Friday at 3:30pm to register and to get the full rules for participation.

You have three days to eight collect badges, and then challenge the Elite Four. Beware! The elites are titans this year!  On Sunday, there are two tournaments to enter as a part of this event: If you beat the Elite Four, you will be entered into the Titan Cup Challenge to determine the Titan League Champion. If you are unable to beat the elite four, don’t fret! You can still enter the Titan League Conference.

Second is Team Rocket's Pallet Town Brawl Tournament

This event is unaffiliated with the Pokemon DS league; participation in one is not required for the other, but you can certainly do both if you're really dedicated.  Don't have time for a weekend long event?  This stand-alone tournament will get your fix.  Rules: Pokemon Little Cup. For full rules, see Team Rocket of North America on Facebook. Time: Friday 9pm. Location: Atrium 4. Prizes sponsored by Eagle Anime.

Also, preview the Full Gaming Schedule in the forums gaming section.

An Important Message from the Registration Department

February 14th 2012, 20:03 CST

As many of you are aware, Anime Detour 2012 is sold out. With that, a lot of people are looking for anyone that do not need their memberships for transfer. If you are paying someone for their membership they don't need, ask for proof that they are registered to avoid being scammed. Anime Detour is not responsible for the outcome of any outside transaction that takes place.

Also, for this year, we have changed the deadline for mail-in transfers. The deadline all mail-in transfers must be post-marked by is Friday, February 24th. Anything postmarked after that date will not be processed, and must be done at the con. Reminder, there is a $5 fee for ALL transfers done at the con.

Remember that we will not process any transfer that does not use the specific membership transfer form. We do NOT accept transfers over the phone.

Click here to download the transfer form

Mail your completed membership transfer forms, no later than February 24th to:

Helping a Friend in the New Year

January 15th 2012, 10:22 CST

It's time again, and we need to ask for your help. Another longtime guest of Anime Detour, Richard Townsend, is in trouble. Any assistance is always appreciated, and we hope you can be a part of it.
Please head over to our donations page and find out what we're doing to help our friend. [Outreach]

January 11th 2012, 16:30 CST

Anime Detour's parent organization, Anime Twin Cities, is seeking an official logo through submissions from the public.

If you are or know an artist interested in submitting an entry, please have them send it to atcboard[at]animedetour.com. Any questions can also be sent to that address. At this time, we'd ask that submissions be in jpg, gif, tif, or png form. Please note that if your submission is selected, we may call on you for a higher quality format.

The deadline for receiving entries will be on February 12th, prior to the monthly ATC board meeting.

Spread the word! We'd love to see as many submissions as possible.

To Clarify: We've had a few questions about this topic, we're asking for logo submissions for Anime Twin Cities. Anime Detour's current logo is already set and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Hotel Status Update

January 5th 2012, 18:49 CST

Currently the main hotel for Anime Detour, the DoubleTree is booked solid for all available rooms.  We do have a small set of rooms that are held aside for Guests, Dealers (who are entered much closer to the convention), and Float.  If there are any rooms left from this block of held rooms they will likely be released near the end of Feburary, so if you are looking for a room or know someone who is, make sure to keep an eye on the main Anime Detour page or the Facebook page for updates.  Cancellations will also open up rooms and these too will be announced.

The Sofitel room block is also filled, but we have the option to expand and we are in the process of doing so.  We hope to have the additional rooms available early next week(the Week of Monday, Jan 9th). If you would like to stay at the Sofitel (Just across the street from the DoubleTree) please follow the instructions below:

Please call the Sofitel’s direct phone number of 952-835-1900 (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-6:00pm) and ask for Reservations.  Each individual must ask for group reservations and identify themselves as members of the Anime Detour.

Hotel Information Update

November 28th 2011, 16:02 CST

At this time all of the available Doubles in the DoubleTree have been booked and only a handful of Kings remain.  The Sofitel however has about 3 dozen Doubles left and 10 Kings at this time.  So you really would like a Double we urge you to strongly consider the Sofitel at this time.  It is just across the street from the Convention hotel and have the added convenience of no lines for the elevator!  Prices for the Sofitel are the same as for the DoubleTree - $119/night.

Just as a reminder, if you would like to stay at the Sofitel (Just across the street from the DoubleTree) please follow the instructions below:

Please call the Sofitel’s direct phone number of 952-835-1900 (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-6:00pm) and ask for Reservations.  Each individual must ask for group reservations and identify themselves as members of the Anime Detour.

Keep an eye out for further updates as occassionally rooms will open up due to cancellations.  Rooms that have not been guaranteed with a credit card, cash or by other means within a few weeks of the convention will be considered unclaimed and could be given to someone else.
