Artist Alley
Artist Alley Table Art Guidelines
- Anime Detour is a convention for all fans of anime; please ensure that all artwork submitted is appropriate for all ages!
- Works may be originals or prints, and must be entirely the work of the artist/s whose names appear on the pieces
- Prints must be limited edition numbered runs
- If you show artwork that features a character belonging to someone else, you MUST credit the owner/creator. (For example, a Disney character must be labeled ©Disney, in addition to your signature.)
- If a character belongs to someone else it still must be a drawing of your own concept and not copied from the original material. A copy with minor editing is also not acceptable.
- Cel art which has been photocopied from original work onto acetate is acceptable, but must be marked as such on the control sheet and the bid sheet.
Artist Alley Table Request Process
- The artist alley table forums open up each year from October 1st till November 30th. See the artist alley page for details.
- All table requests must have their sample work submitted via-email for review to
. - Art table request will be automaticly denied under these guidelines.
- Copyright infringement.
- Mass production
- Inappropriate conduct
- A Dealer and not an artist
- After the Forums have closed there will be a paneled vote as to who will be getting a table. We get over a hundred table requests a year, please understand the art department would love to accept everyone into artist alley but the hotel dose not have room for such numbers.
- With the limited number of tables we do a vote because we don't want a full artist alley based on one thing. For example: Twenty artist Tables with only buttons will be lack variety and wont appeal to a majority of the convention. Also it would be unfair for one artist that gets over looked because everyone purchased their button from another table.
- The sample work along with the description line on the artist alley application are used in this review.
- We do NOT vote based on quality of work.
- We do vote based on genre, medium, and style to allow variety in Artist Alley.
- Since the Artist Alley is staffed and run by volunteers, in all matters, the decision of the Art Show Manager is final. The exhibitor agrees to protect, keep, and save Anime Detour forever harmless from any damage(s) or charge(s) imposed for violations of any law or ordinance by any exhibitor, their employees or agents, as well for failure to comply with the terms and agreements. The exhibitor shall at all times protect, indemnify, save, and keep harmless Anime Detour against and from any loss, cost, damage, liability, or expense which arises out of or by reason of any act or omission of exhibitor, his employees, or agents.

Display Guidelines
- Unless otherwise marked, con attendees may bid on, or buy via "quick sale" any pieces in the display area. (see "Sales & Auction" for more information)
- We do not require artists to reserve display panels in advance. Please, use reasonable judgment in deciding how much art to bring. We suggest a maximum of 3 pieces.
- If you are not able to attend the convention, this is what you need to do. You need to have an authorized agent who has been confirmed by signature of a notary public with your agent, and yourself.
- Items for sale will have priority over items not for sale if space is at a premium.
- Please see the section "Fees & Payments" for details on display fees.
- If you are sending your entry with an agent or representative, this person will be considered legally responsible for your artwork. You must include a signed statement indicating your name and the name of the individual stating that you agree to have them represent you as your Legal Agent, and that you understand you are legally bound by their actions. This will be the ONLY person allowed to deliver and pick up your entries.

- Please make arrangements to pickup your unsold artwork with Art Show during the closing period on Sunday. Also make sure that your art that has been sold, has also been picked up. Otherwise make arrangements with the Art Show director in kind. We do not mail artwork at the convention's expense anymore, so make arrangements!
Paperwork Guidelines
- Please be aware that walk-in submissions are on a first come, first serve basis.

- If you submit a piece to the Art Show which is not for sale, please mark "NFS" in the "Minimum bid" and "Quick Sale" blanks.
